Jeffrey MacLean, MD is a specialist in Orthopaedic surgery with a focus in the treatment of traumatic conditions such as fractures, tendon ruptures, acute sports injuries, multi ligamentous knee injuries, pelvic and acetabular trauma.
Dr. MacLean comes from New England, where he was initially trained in Mechanical Engineering. While studying for his Masters Degree in BioMedical Engineering, he had the opportunity to work at the AO research institute in Davos Switzerland. This premier research center is where the modern practice of orthopaedic fracture care was invented. It was during this time that he decided to become an orthopaedic surgeon. He completed medical school at the University of Vermont and went on to do his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California San Francisco. After completing his residency, he pursued a trauma fellowship at Vanderbilt Medical Center which is one of the busiest trauma centers in the United States.
Dr. MacLean’s practice encompasses people of all ages including fractures in children, adults and in our aging population. He employs the latest evidenced based medicine in his treatment and has a strong emphasis on providing care tailored to each individual’s needs.
Dr. MacLean is a Member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and is a board-eligible diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
